Hit and Run in Atlanta Parking Lot Leaves Woman with Concussion

Hit and run in Atlanta parking lot leaves a woman with a concussion. When a pedestrian is hit by a car, it’s usually an accident. And, while the victim usually suffers pretty serious injuries, the driver of the car is usually left unscathed. So, it can be absolutely frustrating when the driver of the car takes off and doesn’t even check to make sure the victim is okay.

This is what happened in Atlanta a week and a half ago when Deedra Burnett was struck by a car and left for dead. Burnett was crossing the street at her job when a woman driving a white Tesla slammed into her, knocking her to the ground.

The driver of the Tesla didn’t even stop to see if the victim was dead or alive before she took off. The incident was captured on a video tape, maintained by someone who owns the parking lot where it happened.

The police reviewed the video, and could tell for sure that the person driving was a woman. However, they have not yet been able to identify who the driver is.

The impact knocked the victim off her feet, sending her crashing to the ground. She laid there motionless until an ambulance arrived. She was taken to Grady Hospital, where she was treated for bumps, bruises and a concussion.

Police are still investigating to find the identity of the driver. The victim said she was even angrier after watching the video this week. She can’t understand why someone would hit her like that and just take off.
